Finnish Presidential Elections

3 Feb

MiniMoose is still sleeping so I’m going to start with the most unexpected topics – politics!

The second round of Finnish Presidential Elections takes place this Sunday and the candidates are Pekka Haavisto (the greens) and Sauli Niinisto (conservatives). There are no female candidates this time and we are saying good-bye to Tarja Halonen, who’s been the first female president in Finland for 12 years.

What makes this all interesting at least in my opinion is that Pekka Haavisto could be the first president representing the Greens and he also is gay. There has been a massive moment on social media pro Pekka, so it is interesting to see on Sunday night, if he manages to make history!

PS. I was going to add their pics but didn’t manage to do it. Yet.

Welcome to the blogging world! =D
I voted for Pekka in both rounds and I’m so hoping he’d make history on Sunday! =)
